Passports etc.
United States, British and Canadian citizens, and
citizens of British Dependent Territories do not
require passports to enter the Cayman Islands, but must present proof of
citizenship (passport or original or a
notarized copy of a birth certificate and current
photo ID. A driver's license or voter's
registration card alone is not sufficient) and a
return or ongoing airline ticket. (Please note
that according to a new US law passed in 1996, a
Voter's Registration Card is no longer considered
valid proof of US citizenship and is therefore not
valid ID for re-entry into the US.)
Effective January
8, 2007, the U.S. Government will require that all
of our Cayman Islands guests,
including U.S. citizens,
be in possession of a valid passport when
returning to the United Sates of America. Non
American Citizens should contact their respective
governments to obtain further details. For more

Citizens of any of the following countries do
not require a Visa; Americans, British,
Canadians, a citizen of another Commonwealth
country : Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahrain,
Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Denmark,
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Finland,
France, Germany, Greece,
Iceland, Irish Republic, Israel, Italy, Japan,
Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco,
Norway, Oman, Portugal, San Marino,
Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden,
Switzerland & Venezuela.
Applications for Visas can be collected from
your nearest British Consulate or High Commission
Office. Entry is granted for up to six months.
Resident aliens of the US who show a valid US
Alien Registration Card (green card) may be
permitted to enter and remain in the Cayman
Islands for up to 30 days.
No immunization certificates are necessary for
entering the Cayman Islands, you do not need
immunization shots to visit the Cayman Islands, we
have no airborne or insect carrying diseases.
Customs
Arriving visitors may bring in duty-free any
personal items for use while on vacation. In
addition, visitors 18 and older can bring in
duty-free either one-liter of alcohol, four liters
of wine or one case of beer (not exceeding eight
liters) and 200 cigarettes, or 25 cigars or 250
grams of tobacco. Returning residents are
allowed CI$300 worth of goods duty free. This
privilege does not apply to visitors.
Gifts brought into
Cayman may also be subject to duty. Books and
camera equipment are allowed as duty free
items.
How to get there
We strongly
recommend renting a car for at least 3 days with
Cico Avis rent-a-car,
they offer the best
deal for Timeshare visitors. Most guests rent a vehicle for the
whole week but you can rent a vehicle mid week
by taking a taxi to the airport. The
rental car can then be returned at the airport
the day you will be flying back home.
If you rented a
car, pick up groceries before you get to the
resort.
Don't forget,
groceries stores are closed on Sunday, but you
can buy all necessities at gas stations across
the Island.
If you did
not rent a car a taxi ride to Grand Caymanian
from the airport
will cost approx $20us.
The resort
provides a shuttle to Seven Mile Beach free of
charge.
Electrical, water, phones, computers
The Cayman
Islands run on 110v, the plugs are North American
outlets, water is potable Island wide.
Phones are all
direct dialing worldwide.
Connecting to
the internet is easily done, the resort will
give you instructions on how to do it.
Cost ci30¢ per min. The resort offers
free internet in the gift shop where you can
get online without a laptop.
There is a
$10 per day Resort Tax added to your bill at the
end of your stay.
